Biostatistics Subcore

Biostatistics Subcore

The Biostatistics Sub Core provides a wide variety of services to UW NORC Affiliate Investigators in all aspects of statistical analysis and advice on database development. We provide no cost support in the development of grant applications including sample size determination, study design and statistical analysis plans. Our core also provides fee for service for NORC AI’s who prefer to have a statistician provide advice on database development, including creating data dictionaries and standardized methods for QC/QA, how to best enter data and on variable naming.  We also offer fee for service statistical analysis for investigators who prefer to have a statistician conduct their analysis or to work with a statistician for guidance and interpretation when conducting their own analysis. Finally, we offer fee for service support for the use of complex statistical methods; both identifying complex methods when the data requires such and developing new methods when no available methods are available. Our specific expertise includes statistical analysis of metabolomics data, integrative data analysis (eg. the analysis of two or more types of high dimensional data such as microbiome and metabolomics) and the analysis of nonlinear time-varying data including the use of differential equations models in combination with formal statistical methods.
